Rock of Ages |
His new film, "Rock of Ages" n is Tom Cruise
("Mission: Impossible"), a as muscular as greasy as unpleasant as
charismatic rock star, who because of his drinking can hardly stand on his
legs.
Based on an eponymous Broadway musical director Adam
Shankman tells ("Hairspray"), the story of Sherrie and Drew, who seek
their fortune in Los Angeles in the 1980s. In addition to country singer
Julianne Hough ("Burlesque") and film debutant Diego Boneta,
performers like Alec Baldwin are ("The Departed"), Paul Giamatti
("Sideways") and Catherine Zeta-Jones ("Chicago") with it.

Musical adaptation promises great entertainment
While many in Hollywood can hardly wait for this event, then
divided into resistance: Patricia Whitmore (Zeta-Jones), wife of the mayor,
concerned mothers rallying around him who want the immoral activities of the
hard rockers put an end. Zeta-Jones plays the role with verve, often wearing a
bright red costume. She has to settle a score to settle with Stacee Jaxx, the
irresistible womanizer.
Tom Cruise is wonderful in the role of the tattooed rocker:
black-painted finger nails, fur coat and a greasy mane. At his side he has a
little monkey who must give him the whiskey. Stacee Jaxx is always surrounded
by half-naked groupies. Cruise proves the courage to ridicule; his exalted
poses are really entertaining.
Hard rock and metal fans will get their money: Great Hits by
Def Leppard, Poison, Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, Foreigner, Joan Jett, or be
given almost without ceasing for the best. Part is it hysterical, as when
Cruise sings "I Want to Know What Love is" or if Baldwin begins to
sing. Not least to the bizarre costumes and neon colors in the worst possible
80s-style entertainment. "Nothing 'But a Good Time" promises
"Rock of Ages" in the subtitle. The musical adaptation redeemed their
promise.
